“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” Luke 16:10 (ESV)
What happens when we give God our “Yes”? Whether it is washing the dishes, cleaning the house, changing diapers, being a stay at home mom, giving of our finances, time, or giftings, God sees every moment we faithfully offer Him as an act of worship. He sees the sacrifices, the dedication, those times where we are utterly exhausted, but choose to instruct our children in those “teachable moments” and lead them into the truths of the Lord. He hears our cries and sees our well-worn knees hit the floor in prayer as we intercede for our families. Every single tear that we have cried as we have tilled and watered the soil in faithfulness in whatever He has called us to has not gone unnoticed. He records every one in His book (Psalm 56:8).
Be encouraged today to not grow weary in well-doing. Galatians 6:9 is such an uplifting passage of Scripture and states that in due season we will reap if we faint not. Every act of obedience to give God our “Yes”, whether in the little or big things, plants seeds that are going to impact and change lives for Christ. Choosing to do each task with faithfulness plants tiny seeds that grow and produce fruit. Take for instance the mighty oak tree that sprouts from one teeny tiny acorn! Although the tree takes time and goes through a process, it becomes massive. In the same way, when we continue to do the right thing and faithfully steward what God has entrusted to us, we shall reap a harvest. Our faith in God and steps of obedience are seeds that we plant so that God can multiply and use them for His glory.
It is extraordinary what God can do with our small acts of faithfulness. Whether we are offering the Lord our time, giftings, finances, etc…we can trust Him to renew our strength, lead our steps and do the impossible. For example, God used a rock from a shepherd boy to kill a giant. He defeated a massive Midianite army with one leader named Gideon and his 300 men. In fact, God actually had Gideon downsize His army before going into battle to show God’s miraculous intervention! The Lord loves to take small things and use it for His glory. Another powerful illustration of this is the little boy who gave his lunch to the Lord in Luke 9:16. From this little boy’s unselfish act of surrender, Jesus miraculously multiplied the gift of five loaves of bread and two fish and turned it into a meal to feed 5,000 people!
When we give God our “Yes”, He multiplies it for His Kingdom. Let’s encourage each other to steward the gifts He has given us and allow Him to use us for His glory. Whether it is in the little moments that no one else sees but Him, or the big moments that are in front of everyone, God is pleased when we are faithful to do what He has given us with excellence. When we do that, God takes notice of our obedience, and He can entrust us with more. Let’s keep Luke 16:10 on a note card each day as a reminder of God’s ability to take our little, use it for His glory, and multiply it for His kingdom purposes.
Do you know the importance of giving God your “Yes”?
-Acts of faithfulness are tiny seeds that grow and produce fruit.
-Our faith in God and steps of obedience are seeds that we plant that God can multiply and use for His glory.
-When we are faithful, God takes notice of our obedience and can trust us with more.
-The Lord loves to take small things and use them for His glory!
Your fellow Able Mom,
Liz
Father, Thank you that you are able to do the impossible with my obedience and surrender. You supernaturally work as I am faithful to do what You have asked of me. Strengthen me in both the little and big tasks so that I can faithfully do everything You have called me to do for Your honor and glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
