For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5
In the chaos of motherhood, we often wish for our children's happiness. “Oh, I just want them to be happy!” But what if we aimed higher? What if we plant seeds of lasting joy in their hearts, something more enduring than fleeting happiness. Happiness is like cotton candy—sweet but gone too soon. Joy is the warm hug that lingers, the melody that plays on the toughest days. While happiness comes and goes with life's changes, joy stands strong like a lighthouse, rooted in faith, gratitude, and love. (Psalm 30:5) Joy is a secret garden within us, blossoming with God's love and tended by the hands of faith.
As moms, we should lead our kids in life's dance, teaching them steps of joy—gratitude, kindness, and faith—so they can navigate challenges with grace and strength. Let's help our children dance to the enduring melody of joy, finding strength in every note. “When anxiety overwhelms me, your consolation brings me joy.” (Psalm 94:19) When they stumble, let's be there to lift them up, showing them that true joy isn't in avoiding falls but in rising stronger each time. Let's be lights of joy at home, showing our children a life rich in God's love and filled with a deep, lasting joy that only He can give. Those seeds of joy are important every day, nurturing our children with faith, love, and the unwavering light of God's presence. I love this scripture: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13) His joy helps us OVERFLOW with hope!
Together, let's journey toward joy, embracing life's fullness and guiding our children to a joy that lasts beyond the temporary and into the eternal. In the mosaic of motherhood, let's weave threads of joy, creating a tapestry of love that endures through every season.
