"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."
— Psalm 34:18 (ESV)
I remember the day the doctors told me I shouldn't have any more children. Cancer had taken its toll, and every oncologist I spoke with echoed the same warning: It’s too risky. It’s not safe. You need to accept this reality.
So, I did the only thing I could—I prayed. Not for another baby, but for contentment. Every day, I asked God to help me be at peace with what I had, to quiet the ache in my heart. But something unexpected happened. Instead of diminishing my desire for another child, God grew it.
Sometimes, God answers our prayers in ways we don’t expect.
Night after night, I dreamed of two little girls with me. I didn’t understand it, but the vision was so clear. It was as if God was whispering, Don’t give up on me. I’m not finished yet.
Years passed, and I remained cancer-free. Five years later, that longing was stronger than ever. It didn’t matter what the doctors had said—I knew God had planted this desire in my heart for a reason. And then, against all odds, it happened. My miracle. A healthy, happy baby.
God's silence does not mean His absence.
Maybe you’ve been crying out to God for something, but all you hear is silence. Maybe you’re waiting on a miracle, a breakthrough, a glimpse of hope. And maybe you're wondering if you should just stop asking.
But hear this—just because you don’t see God moving doesn’t mean He isn’t working.
In the book of Daniel, three men stood before a fiery furnace, facing death because of their faith. They declared, "Our God is able to deliver us… but even if He does not, we will not bow." (Daniel 3:17-18) God didn’t keep them from the fire—but He walked through it with them.
Maybe you’re standing in the fire right now. Maybe you’re waiting on an answered prayer, a miracle, a sign that God sees you.
Don’t give up on Him. Because He will never give up on you.
You may not see it yet, but He is moving. He is working. And the very thing you think is breaking you might just be the place where His power shines the most.
Hold on. He’s just getting started.

Father, I don’t always understand what You’re doing. Sometimes, it feels like You’re silent. But today, I choose to trust You. I choose to believe that You are near, that You are working, and that You will never give up on me. Give me strength to hold on, even when I can’t see the way forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
What is something you’ve been praying for but haven’t seen an answer to yet?
