“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in You.
Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
Isaiah 26:3-4 ESV
Before I graduated from High School, God redirected my path from college to full time ministry. I tabled any desire for college knowing that it might swing back around later in life and sure enough it did. As an adult and with God’s leading, I registered for college and I got my finance degree. I loved every second of it! I had many classes on retirement accounts, investing, the stock market, and more. One idea that was taught over and over was, you must diversify your accounts! You know that saying…”Don’t put all your eggs in one basket!” If you have all your investments in real estate and the housing market crashes, you lose everything. So you put some in real estate, some in finance, some in health care, etc. That way if one fails, you’re ok because the others likely don’t.
Fast forward 10+ years and I’m at church. My husband is on stage leading worship, because he’s the worship pastor, and I have our three little kiddos lined up next to me. We’re all singing our hearts out to the Lord! And in the middle of worship God whispers, “You can put ALL your eggs in my basket!” Woah! Momma did you hear that? Did it sink in? You can put ALL YOUR EGGS in His basket! With investing you don’t trust one market with all your money. But Momma we can TRUST GOD with ALL that we have! There’s no need to diversify. He’s not faulty and ever changing like the financial markets. He is the solid rock on which we stand a firm foundation that never changes!
So my question to you today is, “What eggs are you holding on to that you are placing somewhere else besides His basket?” If you’re like me, you’re not placing those eggs anywhere. You’re holding on to them yourself because you believe you can oversee that egg better than God can. Ugh. Maybe that egg is your children, or your marriage. Maybe it’s a child with special needs or a relationship. Could be finances, career, your schedule, your ministry. Maybe it’s your heart, your dreams, your giftings. Pain, hurts, trauma. Whatever it is, we can trust Him with it! ALL. OF. IT.
Momma, in the world’s eyes it’s wise to diversify and put your eggs in many different baskets, but in God’s Kingdom wisdom is putting ALL your eggs in His basket! Let’s take some time today and this week to do an egg check! If you find that you’ve diversified like the world, let’s fix that. Because the world will never give you a return on your investment like the Lord will!
Your fellow Able Mom,

Lord I praise You that you are so trustworthy and capable. I can hand over all of the things that are so precious to me right into your mighty and loving hands. Lord my heart feels nervous but I know You can do better with these things than I can. Hear my words and my heart Lord. I trust You! Help me to identify any “eggs” that I have not handed over to You and help me to entrust them to You. God no other basket is as good as yours. They all fail. But Lord You will never fail or disappoint! Thank you for loving me. I trust you Lord with all that I have! Amen.
